These days, my inbox is overflowing with subscriptions and email ads from every store from which I’ve ever bought anything. Sometimes, it can be so exhausting going through emails. However, there are some emails I never miss. On the Innovation episode of the podcast, I talk about the importance of keeping informed and staying abreast. One of the ways I mentioned was subscribing to newsletters. I like this because it is easy and you don’t have to do much work aside opening emails.
Here are my top 6, never miss newsletters to receive in my inbox:
I love the way they break down business and tech news. It’s easy and accessible, and allows me to understand how various consumer trends impact corporate and consumer behavior. They are also after and breaking really difficult concepts into
2. Aspen Institute 5 Big Ideas
I like the way this newsletter is organized. It’s five ideas and each of them are in the form of a question, forcing you to click the links to get an answer. The ideas are very topical and challenge or thinking on conventional wisdom and normalcy. Anything that gets me to think outside the box is good by me!
As someone who works with the government, I know how innovation resistant the public sector can be. I like this newsletter because it highlights intrapreneurship happening around the world in government. It’s a beacon of light for me that it is possible to do creative, interesting work amidst the red tape and bureaucracy of government. I also appreciate that it’s out of Europe and therefore has more of an international flair than other newsletters.

I am always in awe of the amazing work being done by African and Afrodiasporan people around the world. As we begin to see an increasing prominence to Africa and her diaspora, this newsletter is the perfect way to stay
I love good cultural commentary and this newsletter provides an in-depth look and seemingly mundane, but important cultural evolution. One of my favorite issues talked about how museum culture was evolving in the face of Instagram. It got me to thinking about how social contracts are being rewritten everyday by technology. Case in point: COVID-19, working from home and the rise of Tik Tok— a platform they have recently been covering.
As someone who is really invested in the digital revolution. I love this newsletter because it provides the African lens to what is happening in tech. The newsletter is based out of Nigeria but covers tech related news across the continent and the diaspora. They are often the first to break business news on tech and they do some great infographics (who doesn’t love a great infographic?!).
